- Minutes of the recent council meeting in Unionville, including the introduction of a number of new by-laws: to tax dogs, to regulate taverns, to define pathmasters' duties, to provide renumeration of township officers, to prohibit exhibitions without licenses, to punish offenders of township by-laws. Also, no more licenses will be issued in 1861 for the sale of "spiritous or malt liquors", a number of fence viewers, poundkeepers and pathmasters were appointed for each ward, and by-laws 95 to 119 were adopted.
