We wish him every suo- ecss in his new undertaking. â€"On Monday last, we had the plea- sure of inspecting a new omnibus, from the manufactory of Mr. IV. Trench, Jr., which, for combined strength and beauty of finish, surpasses anything heretofore turned out of that establishment. The painting was in the hands of Mr. R. H, “lilson, and “ Bob 7’ has proved himself .no “slouch ” in handling the brush. The otnnibus was built for Mr. Joe. Thompson, Thornhill, and is intended to run between Eglington and Toronto. Mr. Trench has established a reputation second to none in this particular branch of business. He has, we understand, two more in course of erection. â€"On Friday night last, an old man named Gordon, :1 well known resident of Maple, met with an accident, which, in all probability, will prove fatal. The old man, who is supposed to be about «90 years of age, has been engaged for some years past in carrying the mail from Richmond Hill Station to the vil- lage of Maple, and on returning homeâ€" _ward, between 8 and 9 o‘clock, on Friday night last, after leaving the mail bag at the Post Office, his attention was drawn to some object behind him, and before he could turn around a couple of men in a gig, coming in the opposite direction, ran over him, the horse stepping on the old man breaking three of his ribs. The brutes; for it would be unjust to call them anything else, never halted to ,see whether the old man was injured or not. Mr. Waterhouse found the injured man tying on thercad and procured the services of some neighbors and carried him home.
