The day could not have been fairer if made expressly for the occasion. Numbers gathered round the Well laden tables spread under the shade of a wide spreading tree on the front lawn. Old Curiosity Shop which had suddenly sprungr to life in one shady nook was almost stripped of its spoils. Aring of evergreens with an opening shaded by red curtains constituted a candy-store and ice«ereani parlor and well did the young ladies work, to judge from the financial results. As evening approached the Richmond Hill Band enlivened the air with its music, and later on when the Chinese lanterns brightened up the scene, all crowded around the veranda. where Mrs. Knox. and Miss A. Langstafl' played and sang charminle as usual, while Mr. Capstick and the Misses Ellston drew showers of well-earned applause from the audience. Mr. Harry Bates was cncored but deâ€" clined on the plea of “lmameness.” Mr. lurrows who recited a selection from Shakespeare was cncored but did not respond. Altogether it was a most en~ joyahle and successful party. “HG. “ The Tucsin” (N0. 1) “ Cull Yo l'nr Mvu." Wth h)! I; A. Morrison; Music by (Vlm'mutn Lucas. Will 1). Atkinson. WlLL.â€"â€"The will of the late Doctor Langstalf has not as yet been entered for probate. But; we understand the f'oL lowing is about the shape it stands in : The executors are Messrs. A. Marsh and Simon Miller, of Markham, with the late doctor’s sou, Rolph. Mrs. Langstafl'. the widow. and her children get all the household furniture, glass ware, plate, with income derived from properly on Queen street west, Toronto, equal to about $1,000 per year. The two daughters, Nellie and Mrs. McConaghy, will receive about the same income each From property on Queen street, Toronto. Ernest gets the income derivable from the stock in Building Society in the Arcade, Toronto, and Rolph gets the residue with the proviso that if any of the others die without issue the property in which they are interested in will revert to him. It is estimated the personal and real estate will be worth over $100,000. Fonnsrnns’ GALA Dunâ€"On Mon- day the members of Court Richmond No. 7046 formed in line in front of their Hall and marched through the village, headed by the RILFJ}. Band, when they took busses for the city to attend their grand demonstration. At one o’clock the procession was started at the City Hall Square and marched along King to Yonge, up Yongc to Queen, and along Queen to Struchan Ave, thence to the Exhibition Park. It was one of the longest and grandest procesâ€" sions Toronto has seen for years, being over three miles long. Space will not allow us to go into details, snfiiee it. to say the Order of Foresters is one of the strongest in the world. GOLDEN WEDDINo.-â€"â€" Mr. Samuel Dunbar has been County Constable of the Cow of York since 1852. He is an old soldier, and for many years was a sergeant in the 36th Regiment. When discharged he was colored ser~ gamut of the Grenadiers. Mr. Dunbar was married in New Brunswick Aug. 23, 1839, so that Friday was the fiftieth anniversary of' his wedding day. Mr. Dunbar is still able to perform the duties of his office, and can boast that he is the oldest County Constable in York. On the occasion of the anniver- sary his children and friends presented the worthy couple with many presents, BASEBALL.-Tlle best game of agriâ€" cultural baseball was played by our boys at Aurora last Saturday where they were again defeated, this time by 17 runs. Since the match with Tllornhill was played only lhree of the nine were out for practice regularly and yet they had cheek enough to play the heaviest team in the county. ;’ THRESHING.â€"Th1‘eshers are having ‘thcir hands full this year. Some of them have from 30 to 40 consecutive days promised ahead, and those farmers Who have been late 3:: applying are at their wit’s end to know how to get their threshing done. Then Why don’t you undertake to get your friends, the Americans, to take away the barriers you speak of? Surely you don’t want the barrim‘fl only on one side removed. Pills to regulate the internal organs, would, we feel assured. restore them to health and uselulness.-â€"Daily Argus. We have it on unquestionable authority â€"â€"the testimony of patients themselvesâ€" that rheumatism, h0wever deeply seated, may be cured by the regular and persistent application of Holloway’s Ointment. This, we feel assured, will be welcome intelligence to thousands of sufferers, bedvriddeu by the disease, or limpingr with stifl‘ened joints along the pathway to the tomb. In a climate where the quicksilver sometimes makes a leap of thirty degrees up or down, the complaint is of course a prevalent one; and in our new settlements at the West, along the alluvial borders of our great rivers, in the hemlock swamps of the South, and in all low and damp locations, few persons reach the age of forty years without a rheumatic visitation. It is clear, therefore, theta preparation which will afl'ord immediate relief, and effect eventual- ly a thorough cure of the complaint, must be of especial value to the people of all countries, We cannot reasonably doubt, in View of the well-attested statements which have been laid before us. sustained as they are by circumstances within our own knowledge, that the Ointment referred to will (‘H‘ect that object; and among all the benefits which the discoveries of that cele- brated physician and philanthropist have confer-ted upon mankind, this is certainly not the least important. Many an indus- trious tiller of the soil. whose services are needed in the field, is at this moment lun- guishing on a bed of sickness; the hands that should guide the plough or grasp the spade rendered powerless by Rheumatism. Many a toiler in evety branch of productive labor is similarly situated, and we can imagine with what joy these sufferers would hail the means of immediate cure. To all such we feel justified in recommending this balsamic remedy, the application ot'which, with the aid of a few doses of Holloway’s MCCUTCHEONâ€"-AL ]\Iu]>]e, nu Saturday, Aug. 24th, the wife of David McCutcheon. of a son and heir. 80 bad as Lihehmatism.” The venerable sufferer was rght.
