The Rev. gentleman was at one time pastor of the Presbyterian Church of this place and Thornhill. and many will be glad to hear of his continued welfare at. the place he is now stationed at:â€" T0 REV. I. W. CAMERON, DEAR lumenâ€"We have come here to-night for the purpose of expressing our esteem for you, and to encourage you in the good work in which you are engaged. You have labored amongst us during the past two years with untiriug zeal, and your devotion to your work has not only secured success but also won the admiratioupf the whole congregation. We feel that any encomiums on your pastoral work, which we might express. would fall for short of its merit. We present you with this cost us a token of our esteem. We de- sire to express our best wishes for yourself and those of your household. We hope that you may long remain our pastor. May God bless all your eï¬orts for the furtherance of His cause in this part of His vineyard, and when life’s labors are over may it be our happy experience to meet around His Throne on high. Lindsey. of 'l‘hornhill, was appointed in place of Mr. Russell. Vaughan, to the Rich- mond Hill school board. A ' Mr. Vanzant gave notice at the County Council meeting that he intends moving That at the expiration of present leases of the toll-gates on the York roads, the Warâ€" den and Commissioners of County property be instructed to re-let the gates for one year. It is a great pity the Councillors cannot come to some {air and business like under- standing, looking to the removal of these gates without so much delay and so much discussion. The Reeve of Woodbridge oï¬â€˜ered a very fair motion upon this subject, upon Which a fair and just conclusion might have been come to. lt is time these gates were set aside they are an annoyauce and injury to trafï¬c and travel and ï¬t only for the times and ages that are past. Since writing the above we notice that Mr. Bull. of Weston, gave notice that he would move “That the Committee on By-laws and Legislation be instructed to petition the Ontario Legislature not to renew or grants new charter to anv toll road company with- in the County Of York."
