The following morning while in the yard, some young horses came running up, and Mr. Xattress tryed to stop them, one ran over him and tramp- ed on his chest. though medical aid was immediately summoned, the injury prov- ed fatal, as he only lived torty eight hours after. As an evidence of the esteem in which Mr. Nattress was held by the public, the funeral was the largest ever witnessed in the county by those present, about two hundred. conveyances being counted in the procession.
