Quite ii large number of delegates from different parts of the County of York assem- bled in the Temperance Hall on Wednesday but for the purpose of taking into conSider- ation the advisability of submitting the Scott Act to the electors. Mr. F. S. Spence of Toronto,.iind others, addressed the meet- ing at considerable length, giving an account of the Act, and its workings in other parts, after which those present formed themselves into a committee, and resolved to take iin- uiediete steps to have the Act submitted.
