The spacious lawn, which is surrounded by cedar hedges and shady trees, was well seated and well lighted and looked very pretty indeed. The surroundings of this lovely spot are so conducive to comfort, happiness and enjoyment that it is little wonder the ladies are always anxious to select it for their annual social. The tea was for above the standard, the edibles of all kinds going to show that the ladies thoroughly understood the culinary depart- ment. Early in the evening on exhibition of rope walking was given across the lawn and later an exceptionally good programme wus rendered by the Richmond Hill orches- tra under the leadership of Mr. Herman Brown, of Victoria Square; Miss Nellie Crosby. Miss Eukin and others. The chair was ably filled by Mr. Douglas, alaw student ' in Toronto. but formerly of Unionville. The pastor of the congregation, llcv Mi". The orchcstra gave excellent satisfaction, and were highly complimented on their good music. Thcir instruments were 4 horns and cm‘neis, 2 violins, ii piccolo, and Miss H. H.
