A good deal of dissatisfaction has been canned during the past winter by the way the Wrought Iron Bang: 00. do their busi- ness around the connlry. Mutterings 0! dis- satisfaction have come from the neighbor- houd of Newmarket, and, a iew weeks 330, a letter appeared in the Markham Economist under the signature of Mrs. P. Spring, in which she says she was misled by the stove pedlars. The letter stated that the victim was persuaded to allow the agents to set up a range on trial. and afterwards she was iu~ dueed to sign a note on the plea th .t it was to keep the agent straight with the company. What might have been I very serious ae~ cident happened at Mr. Thomas Palmer's on Thursday afternoon. Mr. Palmer had hitched this team at horses to the buggy for the purpose of taking Mrs. ralmer out for a drive. While one of the daughters was as- sisting her mother to get into the rig, the horses, one of which was tied] broke loose and started for the street. Mr. Palmer grabbed [or the lines. but missed them. when he was thrown down, both wheels going over his legs. Naturally, Ihe onlookers were al- most paralyzed with lear as they saw their mother, who was only partially in the buggy, clinging to the seat, as the horses dashed wildly through the gate. As they turned up Yonge Street, Mrs. Palmer was thrown into the middle of the road, but. as it would seem, miraculously escaped seriuus injury. She was stunned for, a time, but being carried into the house she soon rallied. The horses continued 1118 race up the street, turning the corner at the Palmer House, down Elizabeth street to Richmond, where they were caught. They had run over sewral small saplings, but. strange to say, neither horses nur buggy appeared .to be in any way injured. Both Mr. and Mrs. Palmer felt a little sore the morning after the aooidant, but the family look upon the escape of their father and mother as grovi. dentisl.
