General regret is expressed over the sudden and unexpected death of ‘the late Archbishop Walsh. The July report issued by the Provincial Board of Health shouts the deaths from contagious diseases in the province as reported to the Registrar-General by the Division Registrars throughout Ontario. The total number of deaths for April, May and June is G?9, and of this ’n’uniber 501 are from tuberculosis. The remainder, 178 is put down as diphtheria, typhoid, whooping cough, measles and scarlatina. The public have a greed dread of such diseases as diphtheria, yet the number of ‘deaths from that source is very light in eompa'risofi to lung troubles.
