Mr. Me ‘11]- lock progaed an admirable chairman and spoke in complementary terms of theanniversary. Miss May Dickinson of Toronto sang in her usual happy manner. She has a fine soprano v‘moe and sings with perfect ease and confi- dence. Her selections were well- chosen and were thoroughly appreciar ted. This is the second appearance of Miss Dickinson at Victoria Square and she seems to have been successful in Winning favor here. Miss Bennett Brown showed great versatility as an elocutionist, Her selections were of the kind to suit her audience, She As was intimated last week the S. S. anniversary was a grand success. The weather- was all that could be de~ sired and censeqnently there was a large crowd of people present. The afternoon was iven entirely to sports. Quoiting wast efirst event and the matches were hotly contested, Mr. Myers of Almiz-a, carrying off first prize. A fine exhibition match of Baseball was played between Un- ionville and Markham. The specta- tors were quite enthusiastic over this match and were sorry when it con- cluded. The score was 6 to 5 in favor of Unionville. King City and Elles- mere then played afootball match for a prize ,of $11. Of this match it may he said that it was one of the finest ever played here and although the boys in teen and white won yet the boys in )lack were opponents worthy of their steel. McQuaI-rie, Esq., and the success of former years waited in making this the most successful garden party ever given in this village. Redditt and Mason of Richmond Hill and the Hope .Male Choral Club, with short ad- dresses by W. J, Hill, M. P. P., and Revs. Chas. Campbell, J. W. Stewart and S. L. W. Harton furnished an ex~ cellent ei'itea'taigamept, The proceeds reached the handsome sum of $240 which after deducting all expenses will leave about $150 to be applied to the church. Mr. J. T. Savigeon per- formed ths duties of chairman very acceptably. A free social was held on Monday evening at which a pleasant time was spent. The following spent the day in the village, Mr. and Mrs. J.
