After a number of vocal selections she introduced Mr. Leckie. the speaker of the evening. who talked along the line of “Life in the Camps.†After giving a history of his own life he told about camp life, and referred to the lumbermen in the‘ northern part of the province as a thrifty lotof men, strictly honorable, and who were well provided for. He said he believed in people taking the. pledge, and he was always prepared to vote for the Duncan Act. the Scott Act, and any Act that had the word tem erance in it. He complimented the {)Vomen’s Christian Temperance Union on the good work they are doing, referred to the comfort bags sent to the lumbermen, and said that the above were the only society who were taking an aggressive stand along the line of politics.
