ll'ttl'tl. Riemann HiLL._ 01m. 8. ..-,__.__. LH’LOYALTT. The vacillating policy of the Con servative Opposition towards the Canadian Navy is too much for The Toronto World. Referring to its Conservative friends editorially on Saturday The World saithâ€""First of all they joined with the ruling Lib- erals in a. unanimous declaration for a Canadian Navy. Before the end of _ the session they withdrew frrm this position and substantially declared for an immediate vote £or battleships and a reference of the question of a navy to the people. They are now declaring that nothing be done .in the way of a navy until an appeal to the country has been made." It is little wonder that many of the, staunch Conservatives express their I disapproval of the changing policy of Mr. R. L. Borden, Mr. G. E. Foster and other leaders. Those gentlemen will do nothing to asssist in the de- fence ot' the British Empire, yet‘ they wave the 'old flag and shout patriotism as lustily as ever. m THE OLDEST POSTMASTER IN CANADA. I We are again pleased to offer our congratulations to our esteemed fel- l-ow-townsman, M. Teefy, Esq., on being the oldest postmaster in Can- ada. Mr. Teefy has, therefore, been, Postmaster for more than 60 years. The Deputy Postmaster General at that time was T. A. Stayner, and in ~‘olle following year Canada had her _ deposited ,Sundav. first Postmaster General in the per- sOn of James Morris, Esq. Since Mr. Teefy’s appointment there have been twenty-two Postmasters Gen- eral, the first, Mr. Morris, referred to above, the present occupant, Hon. R. Lemieux. Concord. Mr. K. Campbell and sister Stella. visited over Sunday last with Mr. E. Kefl’er’s. Miss Nellie Campbell visited her friends, Misses N. and A. Fisher. Mr. Geo. Clark’s private funeral took place last Week. His remains Were in Thornhill Burying grounds. Though he. had been absent from these parts for some time, his late (is arture is most keenly felt. Mr. . . Fisher and sister went driving \\ ith an intimate friend Sunday aft-er- noon and entertained her for the even- tn . gin Geo. Baker is now having his buildings completed. This will be an- other improvement to Concnrd. A very interesting sermon was given by Rev. Thos. Donner of Mark- ham. in the Dunkard Church here. _ His lesson was taken from the fifth Chap. of Galatians. OMEN SUFFER More than Men Women have more than their share of the aches and pains that afflict bu- mzmity. They must “keep up”, in spite of constantly aching backs, or headaches. dizzy spells, etc. Mrs. Edward Calwood of 123 S. Harold Street. Fort William, Ont., says: “I! suffered with dull, miserable" pains, soreness across my back and in my sides for months. They would catch me. so badly at times that I could scarcely move around. I would have dizzy spells and altogether, felt genera l- -ly.\ruu .down. After using a number of remedies without finding relief.
