Starr last Saturday, when the partial obstruction to the bowel beyond the stomach was overcome by making a, new outlet from the stomach to the intestines. Mr. McDonald, was called in on the case only’nfter the trial and sentence of death was pronounced. Appeal was made from the trial judge to the Court. of Appeal in Alberta, thence to the Sn ‘reme Court of Canada, thence to CaEinet in Council, and finally the defence succeeded in having sentence commuted to life imprisonment.
