(Standard ch Igust QUEEK ACTION BRAKES EXTRA LARGE AND EXTRA SAFE flm .1 DO uly H] In the construction of Dodge Brothers Motor Car, every consideration has been given to the owner’s safety. This is particularly evident in the brakes, which, with their 14-inchdrums and 2% inch lining, are appreciably larger than the average. The extra surface thus provided develops greater friction when the brake bands contract over the drumsâ€"and it is this friction which stops the car. Connecting levers are designed to transmit the maximum of power with the minimum of effort. The slightest pressure on the brake pedal has an immediate effect. This pressure is distributed evenly between the two rear wheels by a highly efficient equalizer, which prevents skidding because it retards both wheels simultaneously. And the brake bands grip evenly all around the drums. This protects the lining against irregular wear and enables the driver to stop quickly, quietly and safely.
