Lewis one of the counâ€" cillors of the Township of Uxbridge had the misfortune to lose one of his horses recently. The animal died of spinal mcnegitis and at the present time another horse is suffering from the same ailment. A veterinary was called as soon as the animal showed signs of illness, but nothing could be done to save the beast. As an aid to the farmers in the Township of Pickering in the appre- ‘hension of chichen thieves, the munic- ipal council offered a reward of 8100 to the person or persons who through their vigilance gave infor- mation causing the arrest of the guilty ones on ‘this charge. Since then two men were sentenced for the offence, and a disput arose over who was entitled to the reward, and so far it has not been paid. The annual Sunday school Conven- tion of the Tonwship of East Gwill- imbury is to be held in the United Church at Mount Albert on Tuesday the 14th of June commencing at 10 a.m. It is hoped that every Sun- day school in the Township will be represented and the citizens of the village are making arrangements for their entertainment. She was a mem- ber of the Unionville United Church. and took an active interest in church work. She was in her 66th year and leaves to mourn her loss her husband two sons, Robert H. of Ringwood, Herbert N. and two daughters, Mrs. Telfer W. Wegg and Mrs. Wm. E. Smith of Unionville. Each individual license will cost $1.00 and will be good until the end of 1928.
