Egg Mash and Scratch Feed If pies do not bake well on the bot- tom, put a hot stove cover under each pie when putting it in the oven. Fine grained tapioca added to wheat cereals, one half tapioca and one half wheat cereal, makes an ex- cellent breakfast dish. To clean a stove pipe, place a piece of zinc on the c0315 of a hot stove. The vapors arising from this‘wiil carry off the soot by chemical de- composition. If you want pastry to be light and flaky, roll in one direction only. If rolled first in one direction and then in the other it is sure to be tough. Strips torn from sheets rolled tigh- tly into little rolls and pinned up come in handy. Bandages average from two and a half to three yards in length, very narrow ones being best for toes and fingers, wider ones for arms and legs, Bandages should al- ways be rolled and pinned until need- ed. MAPLE IT .GETS THEM ALL When dad first got the family car He firmly swore: “Now twenty miles is fast enough, I’ll drive that and no more: And if you boys do more than that I’ll tell you what I’ll do, I’ll never let you drive again.“ And dad meant it, too! Then dad looks hard at Fred and me “If some speed crazed galoot, Who’s doing fifty miles an hour, Around you starts to shoot, You ease over to one side And let the demon by, A man that drives a car so fast, And let the demon by, A man that drives a car so fast, Is trying hard to die.” But since dad's learned to feel at home, When he’s behind the wheel, At times that human thrill of speed Will o’er his senses steal, And he will turn to us and shout: “This old boat’s sure alive” And then he’ll start to give her gas Till she hits forty-five. And when he lets us drive a tripâ€" That is, lets me or Fredâ€"â€" He sits with mother back behind And never says a word Until another car comes up And honks and tries to pass, Then dad will jab our backs and shout: “Hey there, step on the gas!” In Timagami nature has outdone science in conquering Hay Fever. Any vacationist who knows this glori- ous summerland of evergreen hills and sky blue waters will tell you that in Timagami there is perfect immunity from Hay Fever. Timagami is more than 1,000 feet above sea level. Latitude and alti- tude unite in giving a clear, dry, rar- ified atmosphere with warm days and cool nights. It is easy to get to but hard to come away from, for where is there a, fisherman who would willing- ly leave lakes that teem with gamey fish? Or who could but regret leav- ing such splendid summer vacation territory as Timagami. Its hotels, cottages, cabins, tents, its fine sandy bathing beaches and joyous days of swimming, boating, hiking and fishing all help to make it a summer home of health and happiness.
