The annual supper and Christmas Tree of St. Andrew’s Sabbath School will be held on Wednesday, December 28th. The choir of the United Church led the singing at the Anniversary serv- ices at Laskay on Sunday afternoon and evening. A reception was held last Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Woods in honor of Mr. Neil Woods and his bride. During- the evening the bride and groom were presented with a set of dishes and a carving set and an address was read. The Eckardt Musical Co. gave a concert in the Community Hall on Wednesday evening of last week. The first nomination meeting of the newly incorporated Police Village of Maple, was held in the Community Hall on Tuesday afternoon. J.B. Mcâ€" Lean presided and seven men were nominated to fill the office of com- missioners for 1928. All the nominees were unanimous in expressing the opinion that the new municipality should be spared the expense of an election, and voiced optimism regard- ing the future of the village.
