Besides the usual programme of choruses. solos, dialogues etc. a one act play, entitled “The Wooing of Miss Canada†was given by members Iof the school. A pantomime, accomâ€" lpanied by the solo “My Faith Looks up to Thee†was very effective. The lrwhole proceedings were enjoyed by a large audience Rev. A.S. Kerr was chairman for the evening. An interesting programme of dia- logues, choruses. solos, recitations and instrumental selections was given by the pupils of the public school at their annual concert in the Community hall, last Tuesday evening. Short speeches Were given by the teachers, Miss Car- ey and Miss MacQuarrie, Mr. T.A. Cousins acted as chairman. At the close presents were distributed from the Christmas Tree. W. J. The pupils of Hope school held their annual coneert and Christmas' Tree in the Masonic Hall on Wednesday evenâ€"I ing of last week. A lengthy program which was much enjoyed, was carried out. The teacher, Miss Brooks, was presented with a Boston Bag, and an address was read. The chair was ocâ€" cupied by Mr. J.T. Saigeon. On Sunday appropriate Christmas services were held in the different churches. Quite a number from Hope attended the morning service in the United Church. An interesting celebration was held on Monday when seven Armenian boys were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Wilson. Five of these are engaged with farmers at Hope, one is attending- the Ontario College of Art, and one came from Hamilton to Visit a chum. The Christmas spirit was manifest in the village by the social gatherings and the exchange of gifts. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Saigeon spent from Saturday till Tuesday at the homes of their daughters, Mrs. 8.1). Roberts and Mrs. T.A. McBride.
