The resignation of Verna McDonald as public health nurse for the town- ship of North York came as a surâ€" prise to members of the local board of health at its meeting in the munici- pal hall at‘ Willowdale on Monday. Reeve Anders‘on stated that she was taking another position, more attrac- tive. Miss McDonald will be released at the end of March and will receive a lbonus of one month’s salary. There are now 56 cases of commun- icable disease in the township, accord- ing to the report of the medical of- ficer of health, Dr. C.E. Hill. “There are eleven mild cases of measles in one school,†Dr. Hill said, “and 42 cases of mumps in the township.†He addâ€" ed that the water was in good condi- tion. Miss McDonald reported 978 pupils examined during the month. Four of these were exculded from school, while 16 had defects which were corrected.
