The magnet was the De- pot Owners' Convention at the Do- minion Tire Factory. Mr. Baldock said with a sigh that it is too bad education wasn’t made so painless Tin the days when he was learnin’ the \three R’s. The program included a complete tour of the wonderful tire factory. It was a great opportunity for the men who sell Dominion tires to see how they are made. Then there were exâ€" hibits of the latest vulcanizing and repair machinery and accessories, ex- tensive lectures and practical demon- strations by the experts in charge, ed- ucational moving pictures of rubber growing, sales talks and entertain- ments. The Convention was brought to a close by a big banquet at which ad- dresses by prominent citizens were de- livered. The Hon. Chas. Stewart, Minister of the Interior, painted a rosy picture of “Canada of the future†while Mr. J. O. Linteau delivered a most instructive address on “Merch- andising conditions in the automobile trade.†Mr. W. A. Eden, President of the Dominion Rubber Co. brought the {Convention to a close with a brief out- 11ine of all the Convention meant and }a few words of good cheer for the [coming year.
