The funeral was held on Wednesday December 12th, at 1 p. m. from her late residence, Thornhill and interâ€" ment followed at St. John’s Cemetery, Norway. L'ATE WILBERT SAIGEON The funeral of the late Wilbert Saigeon was held at his late residence in Edmonton, Alberta, on Friday, Noâ€" vember 9th. The deceased Who was well known in the business life of the Western city was a brother of J. T. Saigeon, of Maple. He was in his sixty-first year and moved to Edmon- ton some thirty one years ago, and Was engaged in the tailoring business. Besides a wide circle of friends he leaves to mourn his loss a wife and two daughters, Mrs. G. Y. Kirkpatrick and Mrs. W. C. Butters, of Edmonton, six brothers, Walter, Joseph, and Nel- son of Morse. Sask., John T. of Maple, Ontario; William, of Drayton, and Ed- gar and one sister, Mrs. Chas, Doane, ’of Vancouver. Following a private service at the house a service was held 'in the Wesley United Church which was very largely attended. A great number of floral tributes were testi- ‘mony of the esteem of a Wide circle ‘Iof friends and relatives. Interment followed in Edmonton cemetery. The members of the Masonic Lodge bentertained the ladies on Tuesday night. Mrs. Jas. A. Wales has returned home after spending the week in Montreal to attend the wedding- of her son James to Miss Cromlie, of Montre. 31. Also while there she visited other friends. The ladies of the Eastern Star held their regular meeting on Wednesday night of last week, when a shower was given for the sailors of Nova Scotia. The High School held their annual commencement and entertainment on Friday night when the diplomas for this year were presented to the suc- ‘cessful candidates. A good crowd was present to enjoy the program and the young people enjoyed the promen- ade afterwards. In the passing of Mr. Oliver Hard- ing at his home here on Thursday evening. December 6th, following a [prolonged illness, Unionville loses a time honored and highly respected cit- izen. He was born on April 24, 1847 on the Harding homestead, Ebenezer, Milliken, in which vicinity he lived un- til coming to Unionville 23 years ago. He married Sarah Jane L. Ameroux, also of Milliken, on May 31, 1871 and of this union four children were born three daughters and one son. His wife and two children predeceased him by some years. Mr. Harding was a man of sterling qualities, always tak- ing a keen interest in religious and municipal affairs. The fun- eral was held from the family residen- ce here on Saturday, December 8th and appropriate services were conduc- ted by Rev. H. H. Eaton at Ebenezer United Church. The interment was in the family plot at Ebenezer United Cemetery. Two daughters survive, Mrs. W. Annis, Kingston Road and Mrs. 0. Ash, Unionville and to them is expressed the sincere sympathy of the entire community. W. I. Meeting ‘ The regular monthly meeting of the Unionville Branch W. I. was held at the home of Mrs. H. H. Eaton, a good representation of ladies present. The roll call was responded to by Christ- mas suggestions not over 25 cents, and proved most practical. The program was an interesting one, and consisted of the reports from the‘ delegates at the convention held in Toronto last month by Mrs. Frisby and Mrs. Milner land a few words from one district representative, Mrs. Armitage. A splendid paper given by Miss Millie Miller on “Famous Men” and an inâ€" strumental duett by Mrs. Whaley and ‘Miss Eck‘ardt were much appreciated at the conclusion of the program. Af- ernoon tea was served by the hostess- es, Mrs. H.H. Eaton, Miss I. Weighill, Mrs. Spears, Mrs. W, Young and the usual pleasant social hour was spent. . Don’t forget the Can'ville Christmas entertainment on Tuesday evening, December 18th in the church. The program will consist of chOruses. reci- tations, dialogues, and drills.
