The police have been com- pelled to take strict measures to pre- vent dogs running at large. A con- siderable number of the vagrant can- ines have been shot, the danger of the township having a large sheepâ€"killing bill as was the case last year has been practically eliminated. At a special meeting of the North York Township Council this week it was decided that in place of the orig- inally planned 24â€"foot roadway and one ,sidewalk of 4 feet on the new Bayview bridge, contractors will be instructed to build a sidewalk of 5 feet on each side of the bridge but the wid- th of the roadway will remain un- changed.
