In the passing of John Harry at the family residence, Hagerman’s Corn- ers, following a long illness, the community loses a true honored and respected citizen. Mr. Harry was in his 8151: year, a native of Cornwall, England. He came to Canadaiwith his parents at an early age and settl- ed in Whitby Township, later remov- ing to Hagerman where he was for many years engaged in farming, re- tiring some 20 years ago. He was predeceased by his wife and two sons, Leon and Arlie, and is survived by two sons, Frank T.,. of the Western College, Toronto; Rev. J. B. Harry of Leroy, New York and one daughter Ethel at home. In politics he was an. ardent Conservative and was an ac- tive member of the United Church of Canada. The funeral services were held at the family residence on Mon- day 3.30 p. m. Rev. H. H. Eaton officiating, and the remains laid to rest in Hagerman cemetery. The panâ€"bearers were, Jas. Muirhead, Dave Brown, W. A. Noble, Colin Hood T. Burnett, D. Spalding. The Women’s Association of Cent- ral United Church held their annual social evening at the home of Mrs. W. A. Noble on Thursday last. After partaking of a sumptuous supper. the gentlemen who were the guests of the evening contributed a splendid program, each tieing with the other for first place honors, at the conclus- ion of which the ladies unanimously declared that all were winners and that the evening had indeed proved a decided success.
