HAY FACES CHARGES THE LIBERAL. ’ {CEXON'D HILL, ONTARIO per On Sunday Margaret Anne Oster, Widow of Henry P. Keffer, of Sher- wood, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. B. Campbell, Tor- onto. She was in her 9151: year, and was a lifelong member of Zion Luth- eran Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. D. Snider, of Maple ‘and Mrs. Campbell, of Toronto, and three sons, Hiram E., and Reuben, of Maple; and Thomas A. of Edgeley, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchild- ren. The funeral too place on Tuesâ€" day from the home of her son, Mr. Hiram Keffer to the Lutheran cemeâ€" tery and was attended by many re- latives and friends. Following the interment service was held in the church, conducted by Rev. Mr. Heimâ€" rich. ‘ Mrs. T. F. Jackson and daughter Betty are spending a couple of Weeks with friends at Colling'wood. Mrs. A. Ness, of Toronto, is visiting at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Caldwell. Mr. J. T. Saigeon’s dwelling house, which was recently damaged by fire has been repaired and decorated, and the family moved in the end of last week. Mrs. S. D. Roberts is remain- ing with her parents for a few weeks. The first meeting of the C.G.I.T. group, organized in connection with Maple United Church was held in. the school room on Monday evening with twelve members present. The next meeting will be held on Monday even- ing next at 7.30 p. m. The Dramatic Club gave its play to a large audience at Woodbridge on Wednesday evening of last week, and will present ,it on Friday the 15th, at Dixie. They have also an engage- ment at Christie Street Hospital on Wednesday, March 20th, when they will give the play for the benefit of the soldiers. It is suggested that the ladies of Maple and vicinity make a donation of home-made candy for the soldiers, and those desirous of doing so might leave the boxes of candy at 1the home of Dr. Caldwell or with any member of the club. The Young People’s Dramatic club of Woodbridge will give the play “The Old Newhampshire Home" in the Community Hall, on Thursday evening March let. Those who have seen this play speak very highly of it, and it is hoped there will be a good attenâ€" dance. There appears to be someone in the village who dislikes the canine tribe, as three dogs have been poisoned on Maple, Ave. within the last five weeks.
