It is customary in other centres to advise the press of all reg- Iular and special meetings of council :and we agree with “An Interested Subscriber” and deem it our duty to Igive the ratepa‘yers the news concern- Iing the transaction of their own busi- ness. However if the Richmond Hill council chose to hold meetings without extending this courtesy to the Press ,«and the ratepayers we will be denied \the privilege of rendering this service to our readers. â€" (Edi) The attendance at song service last Sunday evening was larger than usual As this service seems so much enjoyed it is planned to hold one on the third Sunday of every month. Any one having a favorite hymn they would like sung at these services please make your request known to the choir..mast_ er, Mr. P. A. Drury, on or before the second Sunday of the month. NOTEâ€"The Liberal is represented at every regular meeting of the coun- cil and at every special meeting of which we have any notice. We were not advised in any Way that there was to,Jbe a special meeting last Wednesâ€" day night and consequently we were not there and could not report the proceedings. Even an editor is not possessed of supernatural pOWer to be able to know that a meeting is going to be held if he is not so advised in some way. It is customary in other Being a constant reader of your val- uable paper I take a great deal of in- terest in the doings of our new council. During the Week I have heard of dis- cussions which took place at a meeting last week and on consulting our ‘local paper I fail to see any mentiOn of it. Now Mr. Editor, I do not want to be critical, and I certainly appreciate your efforts to give us a good paper, but I hope that you do not overlook council news in getting out your week- ly edition. As ratepayers we are very much interested in the council’s activ- ities and how are we to know if you do not report the meetings. It is possible that it may appear next week but in any event I hope that this in- cident is not an indication of any new policy on your part whereby your readers are to be deprived of the coun- cil news. Thanking you for the space in your valuable paper.
