Mr. Murray Summerfeldt, Canning- ton, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Reesor, Sun- derland, Mr. Ross Summel‘feldt ,Tor- onto, attended the funeral of the late Mrs. Lem. Summerfeldt on Saturday. a daughter of the late Jas. Harper and was married in 1881 to Mr. L. Summerfeldt. Of this union eight chil- dren were born, who, with her hus- band 'survive her. Four sons, Gerald Burgough, Sask., George and Murray, Toronto'; William at home; four daughters, Mrs. N. Mustard, Mrs. R. Brillinger, Unionville; Mrs. Jagger. Mrs: Elma Forestegi' spent a few days in Toronto last week. LATE MRS. SUMMERFELDT Mrs. Lemuel Summerfeldt a highly respected friend and neighbor passed away at her home here on Wednesday evening, September 4th following a long illness. Mrs. Summerfeldt was on Tuesday, September 17th. The members of the Ladies lawn bowling club will have éharge of the booth. Miss Marjorie Taylor, Toronto, spent the week-end at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Philip Dixon visited. friends in Toronto over the week-end. Miss Marion McCrowan was the guest of Mrs. C. E._ Stiver over the week-end. The annual school fair for this dis- trict will be held in the Crosby Rink The funeral services which were held at the family residence on Thur- sday afternoon were largely attended and the largé assemblage was eviden- ce of the widespread regret occasion- ed by his passing. Rev. Heimrich, resident pastor had charge of the service and was assisted by Dr. Mau- ru,. of Kitchener. Interment follow- ed in the Lutheran cemetery. The bereaved family has the sincere sym- pathy of a wide circle of friends in this community and throughout Markham township. The late Mr. Pingle took an active interest in community and municipal affairs and for many years served as tax collector for the township. He was a faithful and painstaking official and enjoyed the unbounded confidenâ€" ce of the various councils under whom he served and of the people of the township. In 1899 he married Mary McDougal Ramsay, also of Markham Township, who with one daughter Irene and a sister, Mrs. M. Campbell survive him. Although in poor health for some time his condition was not consider- ed serious until quite recently and the ne\vs of his death came as a shock to his friends.
