The members of the Richmond Hill Agricultural Society met in annual session on Saturday afternoon when the ofï¬cers for the year were elected and plans laid for the Spring Fair on May 24th and for the Seed Fair and the crop competitions. The treasurer's report was very sat- isfactory and showed a substantial balance after all obligations were met. The ofï¬cers and directors spoke well of the success of last year’s fair and look forward to even greater things in 1930. The ofï¬cers and directors for the year armâ€"President, T. H. Despite unfavorable weather there was a good attendance of members. A sumptuous supper was served and a delightful program carried out after which the business of the evening was carried out. The main item of business was the election of ofï¬cers for the com- ing year and the consideration of a program for 1930. The following ofï¬cers were elected: president, T. H. It was decided to hold a banquet in the near future when a prominent speaker from Toronto will address the members on the subject of present industrial conditions. Board of Trade Annual Meeting That North York Township is alive to the advantage of an up-to-date and reliable transportation service was evidenced by the action of the Municipal council which on Monday last at the regular meeting instructed the township solicitor to prepare a report on the possibility of widening :Yonge Street to 100 feet from old Yonge Street to the northerly limits ‘cf the township. It is also proposed that the Board will this year undertake an extensive municipal survey when it is hoped much valuable information will be secured. A vote of thanks to the retiring president William Davies was unaniâ€" mously adopted by the meeting. A resolution was also put through requesting the Toronto Transporta- tion Commission to prepare an estiâ€" mate of the cost of constructing and operating a doubleâ€"trick street car service from the northerly city limits of Toronto to the northern limits of the township. Frisby and Son, Victoria Square, on‘ Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 14th. The Weather conditions were unfavorable for shooting and at times the fog made it seem like a gafe of blind man’s bufl’ but eight contestants kept their “weather eye†in shape and some good shooting developed.
