L. Stiver, of Markâ€" ham Township was heartily commend- ed by his associates when at the regu- lar session of the York County Coun- cil last week, he introduced the quest- ion of aid to two children in the care of the Children’s Aid Society, who are at present living in Unionville. De- puty-Reeve Stiver asked for some ac- tion to take care of the expense of minor operation for one of the child- ren and suggested that the members of County council contribute person- ally half a dollar each. His request in aid of such a worthy cause met with a generous response and every membâ€" er made a contribution which means that ample funds were placed at the disposal of Mr. Stiver to take care of the necessary medical attention.
