Addison, of Annesley Hall will be the special speaker. There will be special music at both church services and at the evening service Mr. Arthur Plumbstead noted baritone sol- oist of Toronto will assist the choir in rendering the cantata “Festival Song.†Dr. J. C. Speer a pastor of- forty years ago was the special speaker last Sunday and to large and represent- ative congregations he delivered in- spiring and instructive messages. The speaker made an eloquent and force- ful appeal for active support of the church and paid tribute to its work in the community. On Saturday, May 24th the W0- men’s Association of the church will serve dinner and tea in the school room. Donald who is. engaged at the Rich- mond Hill Dairy was walking along W'onge Street on his way to work shortly after twelve o’clock. Dr. L. R. Bell whose car struck the unfortun- ate young man ’was driving north and a car was going south, the headlights of which apparently interferred with a clear vision of the intervening stretch of roadway. Tennyson was thrown several feet and sustained severe head injuries. He was taken to the office of Dr. J. P. Wilson and later removed to the General Hospital. The injuries are not as serious as it was at first thought and his recovery without any permanent disability is , looked for. DONALD TENNYSON STRUCK BY CAR MAKES FAVORABLE PROGRESS The Richmond Hill Ladies’ Lawn Bowlin‘g Club announces the Mixed Tournaments for the season which will be held on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4th and on WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 20th. LADIES SOFTBALL TEAM IS KNOCKED ON THE HEAD The rumor that was reported in last week’s issue regarding the “Allâ€"Star†girls softball team, with girls from Aurora, Maple and Richmond Hill was true enough at the time, and after the ‘four girls coming all the way down from Aurora and the three girls from Maple for a practice with the Rich- mond Hill girls three times last week and twice this week failed to find any girls from Richmond Hill at the High School diamond and so turned back to their respective towns. This was a severe “knock on the head†to a girls team here this summer and the fans will most likely have to either go to Thornhill and Lansing to see the girls perform. The manager of this “All- Ofï¬cial opening of the Lawn Bowling season will take place next Wednesday, May 28th, at the local green. A mixed tour- nament will be held commencing at 3.30 o’clock for the Legge trophy. There will be three gam- es and supper will be served. All bowlers are cordially invited to attend.
