Meeting The annual garden party of Knox Presbyterian Church, Agincourt, will be held at the home of Mr. C. Hood on Thursday, June 26th. There will be the usual excellent program in which Many friends in this community were shocked to learn of the passing of Mr. Fred Conway at St. Michaels hospital on Wednesday, June 4th, foll- owing a short illness. Mr. Conway has been making his home with his sister, Mrs. E. E. Braithwaite and during his sojourn here had made niany friends. Born at Manilla, Ont. in 1865, he also lived many years in Lindsay, when he married Miss Nellie Thompson, who predeceased him 12 years ago. The funeral services were held in Toronto on Friday'last. Interment in Hamilton Cemetery. Mr. Conway is survived by a son Edward, in Hamilton, a daughter, Mrs. Wood- ward, Toronto; two brothers in Cleve- land and one sister Mrs. E. E. Braith- waite of this place. Mr. G. Pollard, London, visited his son Mr. J. C. Pollard over the week- end. Prof. and Mrs. C. H. Chant, Toronto were guests of Mrs. C. Chant on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. E. Dixon and son Theo- dore, Mrs. E. E. Braithwaite and Miss G. Eckardt were guests of Major and Mrs. Morrison, Lang-staff on Monday. Many of our citizens took advantage of the half holiday on Wednesday to visit Toronto and see the Shriners Parade. This is a good beginning and might prove beneficial to all con- cerned if every Wednesday should be- come a half holiday as it. exists in all neighbouring towns.
