The entrance examination results for the various High schools in York County have been announced as follâ€" ows; RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO, THURSDAY, JULY 24, 1930 North York Pupils Pass Entrance Following the arrivalof the car in Richmond Hill the Aurora Band rendered a pleasing concert in the park and the municipal men enjoyed a game of softball. After the game Reeve Gohn presided and short speeches were made by Mr. Tate, assistant manager of the T.T.C., Reeve Muirhead, of North York; Reeve Robson, of Vaughan, and Reeve Lunau, of Richmond Hill. Layout shows (1) Ex-Warden W. H. Pugsley, of Richmond Hill, standing beside the first car on which he was a. passenger. Mr. Pug- sley was one of the prime movers in the establishment of the Metropolitan over thirty years ago and was a hard worker for the resump- tion of the present service. (2) Reeves J. Muirhead, North York, J. Lunau, Richmond Hill, W. C. Gohn, Markham, James Robson, Vaughan representing the four municipalities which now own the North Yonge Railways. (3) The first car handsomely decorated ready to leave the City Limits for Richmond Hill. (4) H. H. Trustrum, who had charge of the first car. The municipal men who have born the brunt of the long fight to give North Yonge Street a car service made the triumphal trip in a handsomely decorated car. The official car was preceded by a car carrying the Aurora Band which supplied suitable music at the City Limits and along the route. At Toronto 3. red, white and blue strwmer across the track was cut by Reeve J. Muirhead, of North York, with a pair of golden scissors pesented to him by Commissioner McBrien of the T.T.C. The car was greeted with cheers of jubilant citizens a- long the line and was met ‘-by a large gathering at Richmond Hill. Last 'l‘hursday evening at seven thirty o’clock the first car travelled over the North Yonge Railways to mark the resumption of a street car serwce on Yonge Street as far as Richmond Hill since the METROPOLITAN ABANDONMENT last March. On the first car were members of the Toronto Transportation Commission, T.T.C. executives, Warden Farr of the County of York, Reeves Deputy-Reeves and Eouncillorts of the municipalities of North York, Markham, Vaughanz and Richmond Hill and municipal officials of these municipalities and a ew gues s. These are to be congratulat- ed, especially Howard who passed with honors. Miss Iva Downey who has taught successfully at Mt. \Wolfe, for several years has resigned her position and has been engaged to teach in a public school near Brampton. The roads here have been given a thick coat of tar which will prevent the dust from rising. A large number of young and old at- tended the picnic of the Sabbath School of the United Church at Elm Park, Woodbridge on Saturday.
