Wouldn’t it be a relief if the ushers could take the larnyxes out and clear them before the sermon started? There are f/orces making for right government Which are greater than individuals or political parties. All mankind is struggling toward the same fundamental objects: happiness, freedom to maintain and express individual integrity, opportunity for constructive work and the rewards which come from it. The function of right government is to create the conâ€" ditions within which these blessings may flourish. Having failed to solve the coffee problem in Brazil by destroying the beans and after trying out numerous schemes, the Coffee Council of Brazil has finally decided the best thing to do is to advertise the coffee and sell it. One million dollars has been set aside for an intensive advertising campaign in North America. There is no better way to move goods than to advertise them. Successful bus- iness men discovered that long ago. Smilin’ Through “Have you seen Norah’s new eve- ning frock?” “No. what does it look like?” “Well, in many places it’s very like Norah.” “What happens to the big fish that got away?” someone asks. So far as we can determine, most of them seem to finish their career in sardine cans. A poet says ideas come to him while he is crossing the street. That it might happen to any one adds to the peril of traffic. ' Excitement has been at a high pitch in political circles during the week. The succession of exposures and ad- missions at Queen’s Park have over- shadOWed the happenings at Parlia- ment Hill in public interest, and the developments in the provincial arena will be watched with interest during the next few weeks. Go to church next Sundayâ€"in fact go every Sunday, but make a special effort to be in your plack next Sun- day. Special Easter services are planned for all the churches. Women became independent when they quit wearing dresses they couldn’t button in the back Without husband’s help. Huntsville Council has passed a by- law requiring licenses from all those engaged in taxi work and cartage, either by horse or motor truck. The April meeting of the Stouff- ville Village Council, held on Monday evening, was largely devoted to a discussion of the financial situation of the municipality, and a perusal of the long list of tax arrearages. At the present time unpaid taxes amount to $2100 plus $600 or $700 from 1931. The advisability of engaging a col- lector, who would have the power of a bailiff, was discussed, but the'final action was to send on the arrearages to, the county treasurer for collection within a few days now, when another penalty charge will be added to the bills. Barrie Town Council, at its meet- ing, Monday evening, decided that re- lief work be discontinued on April 15 and no meals be served to transients after that date.
