The gold medal recently won by the “‘Young Canadians” from the “Excel- lsiors” of Brampton, has been received and may be seen in Mr. A. L. Skeele’s show window. The upper part of the medal consists of two lacrosse sticks; below this is a, beautiful. golden beaver, and below the beaver is a large plate of silver, shaped like an old Masonic apron, all enclosed in a handsome case. The workmanship was executed by Messrs. Welch and‘ Trowern, Toronto, and is an elegant piece of workmanship. Messrs. W. Storey and A. Link- later have the contract and are erect- ing a new dwelling house for Mr. Bricknell, on Centre Street West. The building is to be brick-clad, and when finished will add greatly to the ap- pearance of that locality. RICHMOND HILL. ONTARIO. THURSDAY, AUGUST 2nd, 1934 A number of members of the Good Templars Lodge of this place visited the Sons of Temperance at Eversley on Saturday evening last, and were cordially entertained. They report the lodge to be in a flourishing- condition. FIFTY YEARS AGO ‘ From Our Issue of July 3lst, 1884 Mr. J. Thompson’s covered bus is being- handsomely painted and thor- oughly repaired at Mr. Trench’s Works, giving it the appearance of a conveyance perfectly new. McKinnon of Weston spent the week-end with her parents. (J. C. Cunningham, returned Missionary from China and Pastor of Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church, gave an excellent talk on “The Missionary.” The choir of Richmond Hill Church led the song service and rendered special music to an appreciative aud- ience.
