From 0111' Issue of Dec. let, 1905 'The funeral of the late Joseph Cox of Thornhill took place Saturday afternoon to Thornhill Cemetery, and was largely attended. The funeral service was conducted by the Pastor, Rev. J. A. Grant, assisted by Rev. G. McKinley. Way Back in Liberal Files Last Friday, about 1 p.m., the fire alarm sounded and it was soon dis- covered that The Creamery on Arnold Street was on fire. ‘The fireeng-ine was soon on the scene, but water was ‘scarce and the fire was in a short time beyond control. Most of the movable furniture and a good part of the machinery were saved, but the buildings were burned to the ground. The buildings were owned by Mr. A. McLaughlin of Woodstock, and the machinery and contents by Mr. A. Hopkins & Son. Everything was Well covered by insurance and Mr. Hopkins will rebuild again. The annual meeting of the Centre York Liberals was held at Thornhill on Thursday afternoon. The meet- ing was well attended and passed a resolution protesting against any fur- ther increase in tariffs.
