Cows sold as high as $140 and averaged $100 at the Frank Kincaid estate auction sale in Markham Township last week. The sale which included the farm ‘which sold for $23,000 brought in a total of $29,000. A 3-furrow plow sold for $1455, a manure spreader brought $1710, a corn blower $405, a rake S65 and a hay loader $80. The tractor soldi for $910 and the binder brought 31415. One bay gelding brought $167.60 and another $165. A. S. Farmer was the auctioneer and- the whole sale was sold in four and a half hours. A lot of cash to take in in less than five hours. [On Monday evening of last week over one hundred friends and neigh- bors gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bagg where a misâ€" cellaneous shower was held in honor of Miss Ruth Smith, a popular bride of this month. Many lovely and useful gifts were received, after which lunch was served and a very enjoyable time spent. Ruth will be greatly missed in the community but what is our loss will be another’s gain.
