Socmi and Personal WEDDING STATIONERY THE LIBERAL, RICHIhOI‘D HULL, UNTARFL) -It’s strange how empty cars can pass A soldier on the road, -As patiently he stands and waits, His kit bag quite a load.) I've seen them in the driving rain While cars went whirling by Indifferently, un‘heeding of The ladi’s outspoken cry. I’ve often wondered what they think, These boys in brown or blue, Who left their homes and friends behind To fight for me and you. They innst resent the selfishness Of these indifferent men; But all they do is shrug and smile And lift a thumb again Till finally a car slows down And opens wide the door: The occupants are lowded, butâ€" “We've always room for more!" Lt’s strange how empty cars can pass These lads, and never see The application of the Word: “You’ve done it unto me.” The Red Cross work room will be closed for sewing until Wednesday afternoon, January 6th. We are meeting Vwith a splendid response in our sale of Christmas cards. Further supply can be 0%)- tained from Mrs. Chamney if ordered at once. We have received 8 Tetters of ap- preciation for Christmas boxes which’ have reached our boys safely and have been a source of great cheer to them.
