Nigel ‘Reed. Mr. Paul Angle is returning to his home Friday after spending a three weeks tour of Western Canada and visiting a National Rose Show at Milwaukee. Mr. Angle travelled to Vancouver and other centres in the West on behalf of the Allied Florists and Grovers of Canada of which he is president. The annual Bazaar of the Pres- byterian Women’s Association will be held on Saturday, December lst beginning at 3 o’clock in the Sunday School room of the church. Mrs. Stuart Parker of Toronto will open the bazaar. There will be home bak- ing for sale, also aprons, hand knitt- ed baby garments and other articles too numerous to mention. A good variety of house plants will also be for sale. The young people of the church will have homemade candy sale and a fish pond. ENGAGEMENT The engagement is announced 0f Orpha Annie Archibald, daughter of Mrs. Minnie Archibald and the late Ralph Archibald of Elgin Mills to Charles Robert Swan, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Swan, Thorn- hill, the marriage to take place early in December. The new organist and choir leader of St. Mary’s Church was intro- duced to the congregation at the services on Sunday last. Miss Light- body lost no time in getting down to her duties, and in addition to the regular services, met with some 20 children during the afternoon. This group will be formed into a junior choir and it is expected that they will assist at the special Christmas serv‘l'ces now being planned. Other children anxious to sing or learn to sing are invited to the Sunday School Where they may meet Miss Lightbody. It was announced that a reception for Miss Lightbody will be held by the choir at the close of next Sunday evening service. ‘ Mrs. Reed has visited and kept in touch with Thornhill friends but has not lived here since 1921, when, af- ter the death of her mother she Was sent to school in England.
