Hallowe’en Party The Hallowe’en party. sponsored by the» Thornhill District Lions Club will be held in Lawrence Memorial Hall on Saturday evening, commenc- ing- at 7 pm. for the boys and girls of public school age. From 7 until 9 pm. the program will consist of amâ€" ateurs, stunts and movies, as well as the usual “Shell-out”. From 9.30 until 11.30, there will be a dance for the young people. Donations to the party may still be left at the Bank, Thornhill Hardware, Thornhill Meat Market and Thornhill Groceteria. The regular monthly meeting- of the trustees of this village was held in Victoria Hall on Tuesday evening. October 26th. The Hall was almost filled to hear Mr. Carver, who is con- nected with the Provincial Planning Board, discuss the pros and cons of incorporation. It would seem from Mr. Carver’s explanation that while the village may not be ready for in- corporation at this time, such incor- poration may be a good thing to look for in the future. Certain angles must be investigated nrsl, of course, such as grants given by the depart- ment of education and the depart- ment of highways but more informaâ€" tion will be available at the next meeting will be open every evening from now “ntil Christmas. Officers of East York, West York and North York districts attended a meeting in Miss Lewis’ office in the Parliament Buildings on Monday morning to discuss the possibility of a redivision of the districts. On a motion duly made. seconded and car- ried, it was decided that East York and West York he left as they are (East York has 16 Branches under its jurisdiction and ‘West York has 11.) The possibility of a County meet- Ing was discussed and it was moved and carried that this be called a County Conference. The district/pres- idents, or their represnta’tivs, and district scretaries were appointed to act as a committee to arrange such a conference for 1949, tentatively. At this County meeting, every district president gives an address; district secretaries report highlights of the year â€" outstanding accomplishments of the various institutes: skits are preseted; luncheon is served at noon and usually a church organization is asked to cater so that women’s in- stitute members may enjoy the whole program.
