McKean was guest spea- ker at the regular monthly meeting of Doncaster Ladies' Club, held at the homeof Mrs. Wm. Garnett, Morgan Ave, on Tuesday evening. April 5th. An excellent turnout included four gt‘ests, Mrs. Cole, Mrs. O’Brien, Mrs. Vaudier and Miss Lever. Two new members. Mrs. George Morrison and Mrs. Randall Morrison- were welcomed into membership. Several laws and regulations were drawn up, including the payment of an initiation fee' of $1. and 25c per month thereafter. Two auditors were elected, Mrs. Kindness and Mrs. Cooper. Mrs. Anderson came here as a bride a little over a year ago and has always been very generous in sharing her musical ability with us. She has been assistant pianist in the Women's In- stitute. Mrs. Annie Mortson celebrated her Srd birthday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Stone; on Sunday evening. Her family were with her and also Mr. and Mrs. Dave Millan of Rich- mnod Hill. Mrs. ‘Mortson has been confined to her bed for more than a week with a very bad attack of sciat- ica. We are pleased to say she is improving- now. Many cards and other gifts from friends helped to make the _day_ a pleasant one.
