WALL OAK RIDGES, ONT. Plumbing & Heating Contractor Attempted Break-In Something out of the ordinary for Langstaff occurred late Sun- day night with an attempted break-in at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. Braid at the corner of Benson Avenue and Church St. Mr. Braid who is still bothered by the trouble for which he had an operation during the summer had retired, and Mrs. .Braid, who sleeps poorly because of an as- thmatic condition, was sitting in the dark in the kitchen, when she heard a noise outside. Thinking it might be someone prowling around the building being erected next to their home, she opened the door and was shocked to see a man standing in her summer kit- chen. - Her screams must have lent him wings for when the police arrived no trace of him was found in the locality. Apparently the unwanted visitor had gotten in by cutting around the "door latch with a knife. Home And Schobl Community Weiner Roast The highlight of last week was the weiner roast held Saturday night on the Hicks’ property, Langstaff Road West. Chief or- ganizer was Mis: Joyce Suter who was ably assisted by Miss Jean Hicks, Fred Combes, Ralph Cur- tis, Bob Suter and Lynn Williams. About sixty persons enjoyed hot dogs, coffee and “pop and a six piece orchestra with Ralph Cur- tis, Ron Morris, V. Richardson and Don Wrigglesworth on the guitars and Albert Kidd and Len Richard- son on the ï¬ddles.‘ By special ar- rangement and at great expense, Aurora. Borealis was on hand with the most spectacular display ever witnessed by Ontarions ( we quote a radio report). The committee would have liked to see more people attend the affair which was planned for everyone in the com- munity fourteen years of age and over â€" possibly the good news didn’t get around fast enough. AnyWay, reports are that this was the best weiner roast yet and all those who contributed towards its success deserve a big hand. 1722A Avenue Road (Opp. Loblaw’s at Fairlawn) Office Hours: Mon. to Fri. 9.30-6.00 p.m. Sat. 9-1100 pm.
