Your vote and influence are respectfully solicited on my behalf. Among these are full time police protection, new and more efficient traffic signals, amendmentsxto the existing building by-laws, the additional water sup- ply, and most recently the establishment of a health unit which will provide full-time Medical Officer of Health service, nursing service, sanitary inspection and many other advantages. During the past two years your present council has endeavoured to conduct the affairs of the village on sound business principles. This is evidenced by the many improvements and additions to village ser- vices during that time. For Public School Trustee To the electors of Richmond Hill: â€"â€" We are approaching another civic election and the manner in which your council has conducted the bus- iness of the municipality is up for review. Since then, however, arrangements have been made which permit me to car- ry on and therefore I am offering myself as a candidate in the forthcoming elec- tions. I have served three years on Council and shall appreciate your votes again on December 5. CECIL C. MABLEY I am again offering my services and if honored by a renewal of your conï¬dence I will endeavour as in the past to serve the best interests of Richmond Hill. To the Electors of Richmond Hill A short time ago I announced that I should not ‘be able to run for Council this year. At the time it was made this was a sincere and honest statement, bas- ed on business reasons. As Councillor For 1950 As a taxpayer and business man he is well aware of the problems of taxpayers and the necessity of efficient business administration. ‘ I shall appreciate the support and vote of'those who feel that the important matters with which the Board has to deal will be beneï¬tted by my re-election. I can assure them that, as in the past, the important matter of the education of our children will receive my closest atten- tion. » Your \vote and influence are respectfully solicited to elect After three years as a Public School Trustee I am again offering my services in a similar capacity. \ ‘ Andrew Armstrong As a candidate for election to the Pub- lic School Board I fully realize the res- ponsibilities, and the need for careful judgment. I have been a business man for many years and feel that my experience would be helpful to parents and citizens of our village. For this reason I am willing to give time and thought to the business of our school and if given the opportunity will try and be worthy of your conï¬- dence. PERKINS (Advertisement) (Advertisement) (Advertisement) (Advertisement) (Advertisement) . . . . . . DECEMBER 5 . 9 A.M. TO 7 RM. After having served in a municipal capacity for eleven years I am convinced that in order to have the most efficient and progressive municipal government there must be at fairly frequent intervals, a forward movement of council personnel into the Reeve’s chair. At the present time none of the members of the 1949 council; all of whom have done an excellent job in their several departments, feel ready to assume the responsibility of Reeveship. In view of this, and hav- ing been again honored with a nomination for that of- ï¬ce, I have decided to stand for re-election, believing that our record of achievement during the past two years will merit your support. 'At the approaching municipal election to be held on Monday, December 5 you, the electors will be called upon to choose your Reeve for the coming year. During my tenure of office 1 have been a consis- tent advocate of a sewerage system, since I believe it to be the only safe and sane way to protect the health and sanitation of our village. True this project will cost money (details of same have already been given in a former issue) and the expense must be borne by our own municipality. While neither Federal or Pro- vincial Government shares this expense government loans at a reduced rate of interest might be possible. Your council of 1949 has spent much time and thought striving to formulate the fairest and easiest possible scheme of payment for this very necessary ut- ility, conï¬dent that it will beneï¬t every property own- or, whether large or small. With sewage installation the whole area of Richmond Hill will become more valuable, both for residential and commercial purpos- es. I urge each and every owner to give this question his earnest consideration and give Richmond Hill a real boost by voting “yes†on the sewerage plebiscite on December 5. In response to the representations of a large number of ratepayers I am a candidate for Reeve of Richmond Hill for 1950. I have consented to be a candidate for only one reason, and that is in the hope that my years of municipal ex- perience may be of some help in facing the many im- portant problems now before us. I am in favor of] the installation of sewers in Richmond Hill, but I do not think we can afford them under the plan now presented by the council. If elected it will be my aim to secure ï¬nancial aid from the Federal and Provincial governments, in the same manner as a sim- ilar offer of assistance was made by these governments when I was a member of council back in the thirties. 'As one who took an active part in the purchase of North Yonge Radials I will as always work for an im- proved transportation service. I congratulate the council on the new deal for the bus service, but I would remind the ratepayers that had it not been for the de- termined stand of a few of us in years gone by our transportation would not be in the favorable state it is in today. I have ample time at my disposal and am willing to de- vote it to the up-building of Richmond Hill if I am honored by your conï¬dence. I ask your vote and in- fluence on election day and promise you an aggressive administration with a careful eye on the danger of a mounting tax rate. To The Electors of Richmond Hill Thanking you for the conï¬dence accorded me in past elections and trusting that you will favor me with the same in the coming one, To the Electors of the Municipality of‘Richmond Hill J.
