Paper collections are one of the major methods of raising funds for scouting activities, for which the Scouts and Cubs are solely res- ponsible. Scout Troop They Showed Their Pets, With Pride With over 200 entries there was plenty of variety, not to mention noise, when the Scouts and Ggides of Nanaimo, B. C. staged a Mutt and Pet Show recently. Besides dogs, there were cats, canaries, turtles and other pets on display. Prizes were awarded to those pets which, in the opinion of the judges, were best cared for. Establish Scout H.Q. Foran, Prov- incial Commisioner, and a full-time Provincial Executive Commission- er, Arthur J. Tomlinson, a res!- dent of St. Johns. Prior‘ to establishing the New- foundland headquarters Mr. Tom- linson spent about six months at Canadian Scout Headquarters and visited several Canadian Scouting centres to familiarize himself with Canada’s Boy Scout organization.
