They have been living with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Gamble, and will take possession of their new place next Saturday. Visiting their summer heme on the Don Mills Road north of the Lake Wilcox side road last sunâ€" day, Mr. and Mrs. Frank McEach- ren of 109 Glen Ayre Road, Tor- onto, found that the back door had been forced and a twenty-two rifle, a radio, two vacuum cleaners and an electric grill had been stolen. Footsteps from the highway into the property indicated that two men had been implicated. The robbery is being investigated by Police†Chief Richard Mulholland of Whitchurch Township. Mr. and Mrs. A. Mathews last Thornlea school has played four games of hockey. Three were tied and Friday they won against Langstaff 4 to 3. Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Shirruf of Johnson Ave., have just returned from a short visit to the Lauren- tian Mountains. While there, they visied with Mrs. Shirriff’s mother, Mrs. Allan. They report that ski- ing was good. The temperature dropped to 40 below zero where they were staying and it was 56 below on top of the mountain. Melville Thomas of Camille Road is coming along nicely. His broken shoulder is starting to mend. Melville was in a recent car accident on his way to school. Mrs. Jos. Robinson of Bayview Ave, was hostess to the Parish Guild of Trinity Church, Thorn- hill on Tuesday evening, February 6. The members who are ski- enhusiasts spent the evening ski- ing along the roads. Mr. Jas. Robinson hooked up his sleigh to the tractor and the majority of the members enjoyed a long ride over the hills and along the roads. A few of the'members who were unable to participate in outdoor sports had an evening of court whist. When all had ï¬nished the outdoor activties they assembled indoors and took part in a sing- song for which Mrs. Bill Lennox played the accompaniment. Plans were discussed for ï¬tting out the kitchen in the new church and for a hot turkey supper plan- ned for Easter week. Two members, Mrs. F. McLaren and Mrs. Hamer Jennings, report- ed a very happy visit, representing the W.A. to Strachan Houses, the Anglican Aged People’s Home in Toronto. Gifts of magazines and fruit were taken to those who oc- cupy the room for which our branch of the W.A. is responsible, ‘and measurements weré taken in preparation for painting the room â€"â€" a, project planned'for the very near future. ‘ Parish Guild The Parish Guild held a very pleasant meeting on Tuesday, Feb- ruary 6, at the home of Mrs. J. Robinson, Bayview Ave. The evening was a social one with members taking part in a variety of activities. One group skied out to the party but broke no records on their cross qountry hike. Ohers tobogganed or went for an old fashioned sleigh ride or play- ed cards. The drilling of the well is now complete, as is the installation of the heating system.
