Rose Hannah (Annie) Clarke, who died suddenly in Tor- onto Tuesday, March 6, was born in Birmingham, England, 69 years ago. She was housekeeper for the late Mr. Arthur Morgan of Thom- hill for quite a number of ,ears and was known to many for her friendly and cheerful manner. The funeral took place from Wright and Taylor's Funeral Home on March 8 to Richmond Hill Cem- etery. Rev. S. W. Hirtle of the Presbyterian Church conducted the service and the pall bearers were: Mr. Frank Teasdlae, Mr. Morgan Boyle, Mr. George Tutt, Mr. R. G. Miss Campbell received many very useful and pretty gifts at a miscellaneous shower held by the girls of the telephone office in Thornhill last week. Sixteen girls joined in the festivities which took place in the decorated office lounge and included a shOWer on the bride-to-be of pink confetti from a white inverted umbrella. Th. couple were among those rescued from the ï¬re which destroyeu apâ€" artments on Vaughan Road re- cently and lost all their belong- ing's. Mrs. Petrie was rescued wearing her night clothes. She is ’74 and was seriously ill last year, making an unexpected recovery. While \still not in the best of health she manages to get around with a special chair and likes to take her part in household activ- ities.
