The Young Adult Group of the United Church presented moving pictures last Wednesday evening on "The Life of Christ” and “The First Easter.” Harold Sanderson gave a short explanation of the pictures before the showing. ReV. J. O. Totton expressed the apprec- iation of those present to the Group for giving them the oppor- tunity of seeing the movies. Richmond Lodge A.F. and A.M. annual Ladies Night held Wtednes- day eyening was a. delightful social event; Dinner was served at 6.30 o’clock after which the guests were received by Ruling Master Rand Phipps and Mrs. Phipps. Card. and dancing were enjoyed by the large crowd and the event voted one of the most successful in the Lodge history. A. M. Barr of the Ontario De- partment of Agriculture Was the guest speaker at th annual ban- quet of the Richmond Hill Agricul-' tural Society held at the Ridge Inn Wednesday evening. The speaker gave an interesting account of the trip to the British Isles last sum- mer of representative Junior Far- mer's from Ontario and showed many beautiful slides depicting farm life in England and Scotland. Helping her to celebrate, her first anniversary Easter Sun- day were two grandmothers, one, greatgrandmother and several dot- ing aunts and cousins. Sharony who. is the only grandchild on either side of the family, was the recip- ient of many beautiful gifts, and while not entirely aware of the fact that her first year was cause for celebration, the wee tot was ,most appreciative of her gifts and her first birthday cake. Proudest of all at the birthday party was young Doreen ‘Farrant’ 13-year-old aunt from Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. S. Styrmo played host to a large group of friends Saturday night when the Easter season was celebrated in true Nor- wegian fashion at their home in Oak Ridges. Mr. and Mrs. Styrmo greeted a number of their own countrymen as well as many local friends. ' Mr. and Mrs. J. Topper, who for some time resided in Oak Ridges, spent their Easter holiday among old friends here. They are at present residing in Timmins where Mr. Topper is on the High School staff. ' Local Cubs are looking forward to.a hike Saturday which is being organized by Mrs. J. Bradbury. Mrs. Bradbury has been acting cub- master during the winter, helping her husband, John Bradbury, plan suitable events for the local pack. Mr. and Mrs. J.
