DONCASTER DOINGS The Easter meeting of the af- ternoon auxiliary of the Woman’s Missionary Society of the Rich- mond Hill United Church, held on April 5, was very interesting. Mrs. Wm. Scott‘ a recently re- turned missionary from Korea ad- dressed a large gathering of lad- ies, representing the auxiliaries of Maple, Thorn'hill, Carrville and Richmond Hill. Mrs. Scott; has spent many years in Korea, leaving on furlough just before the trouble in that country began. Everything that she possessed has since been destroyed. Mrs. Scott has a‘deep admiration for the Korean people. and spoke of the fine Christian character of many of them. She feels that the 38th parallel is separating them only politically. The Koreans are ex- periencing severe hardships being homeless and without necessary clothing. Mrs. Scott expects to return 0 Korea whenever the opportunity arises. United Church Women Hear Interesting Talk On Korea An interesting evening will take place in the Powell Road School for the South East Vaughan Rate- payers’ Association on April 18 at 8 pm. The township council will attend and discuss interesting talk on water, roads and drainage; this meeting will be in the interest of the- Jackes Avenue Ratepayers and we 'hope to have a large turnout. On Friday evening last the first annual dinner of Gilwell Leaders was held at Ponycrest when an en- joyable time was had by all.
