There was a good attendance of both pastors anu lay delegates from parishes extending from Toronto to Port C01borne’ in- eluding Brantford and Woodstock. At the communion service in the morning, the sermon was deliver- ed by Rev. A. Datara. of Port Col. borne. He emphasized the import- ance these days of conferring with Jesus Christ and with one another. Pastor F. Mueller of Hamilton spoke on Evanglism. The ladies of Zion Lutheran Church served two excellent meals. Three committee memoers brought a. contest each, winners of which were Mrs. Law, Mrs. Hill and Mrs. Thompson. The hostess assisted by Mrs. Jack Chapman, served refreshments. Sherwood Hill, was in the chair. Following opening exercises, Mrs. Darlington read the story of the prodigal son, Mrs. Pearson read the explanation. The evening concluded With re- freshments and a pleasant chat. Marvin Creighton, Elliott Krever, William Donald and Bill Burridge. On Fri- day there was an enjoyable game of baseball between the teachers versus pupils. The former won by a. slight margin. Prize winners were: ladies, Mrs. Leusby’ Mrs. A. Walk- er, Mrs. Guy Fraser. Gentlemen, Mr. John Ross. Mrs. Alma King who played as a man, and Mr. Cramern Lunch was served by Mrs. J. Curtis and her assistants, a splendid evening was enjoyed by all. The Thornlea Home and School ,Association wishes to thank all who have turned out to the' euchres held this past winter for the “support given in making the evenings a success.
