The funds for this were from the commissions on the sub- scription campaign conducted by the pupils of the Senior room. Material for blackout curtains from this same fund was purchas- ed and the curtains were made by Mrs. A. Martindale. Sunday School awards were made to the following children last Sunday at the 11 am. service: Pe- ter‘ Campbell received a certificate for completing the first part of his memory course. English welcomed the and- ience of parents and friends, thank- ing them for their interest and co- operation. An amusing skit entitled “The Mysteries of Middle C,” was dram- atized by Dorothy Hood and Mrs. English, depicting an authentic portrayal of a professor's first mu- sic lesson, in 1851. Watson; Dorotfiy Hooper and Judy Harman. A vocal duet, in costume “The Keys of Heaven” by Mary Hooper and Beverley Burr was particular- ly well done. Two Schubert songs “Hedge Roses” and “Wandering” by Beb- ty Huston were rendered with poise and a deep appreciation of the beautiful music of the composer. The assisting artist Miss Doro- thy Hood brought the program to a close with a skillful and sympa- thetic rendering of two well chosen piano solos “Rustles of Spring" by Sinding and “Intermezzo” by Pro- vost. ," The Rev. Austin Huston voiced his appreciation and thanked all who had helped make the evening a success. An offering was taken for the work of the Sunday School.
