Excuses are nauseating but we were ham- pered by illnesses and injuries. Some of the ”sure-fires" could not compete for Richvale. As Brook- lyn usually says after a world ser- ies loss “Wait till next year!" Friday was speech day at Rich- vale as five senior students spoke to the assembled pupils. Overcom- ing a {right at seeing the sea of faces and the critical eye of the judges (the staff), they all spoke very well. After a long delibera- tion the judges chose Kathleen Bonner and Betty Dubknwsky as first and second prize winners. Last Week At Richvale Thursday, October 9 was the Area Field Day. but alas for Rich- vale School there was very little to cheer about. We came last, I mean sixth. Sheila Sutclifie did very well, in fact, she was runner up to the senior girls’ champion. Jimmie Rushlow did very well in his events. E. Dawson stepped outside and saw it skim the tops of the trees sur- rounding hls property. Later this same plane was reported to have landed in a field on Mill St. for several minutes before taking off for its final destination. The element of mystery always seems to add an interesting note to any affair and the Jefferson School Community Club bazaar scheduled for November 8 is taking care of this with a Parcel Post Sale. The following poem has been sent to us and we understand copies may be had at the School, Friday night next. Did you ever hear of a parcel post sale? Well listen and I’ll tell you a tale. Our Community Group is having a bazaar And wishes to sell some things from afar.
