Whittun's nursery tots had their first touch of social life, which they enjoyed to the full and all the children impressed every- one with their sweet and court- eous manners. Shortly after they arrived at Glen Lonely and were welcomed by the ladies of the WA. and the rector of St. John’s. the Rev. D. C. H. Mitchell. most of the party went on a tour of the farm, taking in everything, cows, pigs, turkeys and chickens. with great interest. The older boys played baseball until all joined in 3 Treasure Hunt which ranged all over the farm. Capt. Snively had arranged this surprise for the children himself and it was a merry hunt indeed. Through the kindness of Mr. Langdon, who donated bus service for the occasion and Mrs. G. B. Beattie. who put her station wag- on to good use, the children and Home staff arrived at the party shortly after two o‘clock. Held under the auspices'of St. John's W‘A., this picnic was one of the happiest events of the season for the gay crowd of ninety per- sons comprised of children, WA. members and guests.
